Introduction:
So for my friendlies and my newbies, welcome.
I want to introduce myself, so here's a quick bio.
A lot of twists and turns,
so hold on tight.
My name is Miracle Sam-Ekhator.
I go by Mira as well, but depending on the day, I prefer Miracle.
I was born in the city of Benin, Nigeria and I came to the United States as a toddler. I've journeyed through 29 fulfilling years, and am anticipating the big 3-0 in March.
Although challenging, and maybe a little traumatic, I've been blessed with a fulfilling role as the firstborn daughter of Nigerian immigrants. My parents, I love them to life, blessed me with 3 younger siblings. They have been my anchors through life's journey..
And well, there would have been 4 siblings...
Fate robbed me of a twin and complicated my entrance into this world, however, it bestowed upon me the name "Miracle" and the middle names: "Nmeri" which means 'victory' in Igbo and "Nosagieragbon", which means 'who God has given life, no one can take away' in Edo.
All of my names circle around my existence...
There is a purpose, there is a calling, there is an assignment over my life,
and I will be victorious. "Miracle Nmeri".
So yea, that's the long and short story behind my names: Life started with a twist and I survived.
Quite honestly, I'm still surviving lol.
But I'm not doing it alone.
I gave my life to Jesus Christ in middle school. My life has not been the same since that day.
It was a decision that led to my baptism and the gift of tongues, which at the time was almost frightening. It wouldn't stop. I remember telling my parents, "I can't stop, the Holy Spirit is moving in my mouth."
Growing up, my parents were in ministry together, both pastors. They still are.
My mother, one of the most powerful women of God you'll ever meet, started preaching in her father's church at the age of 3. Three.
That was not my ministry, clearly.
Over the years, her prophetic and deliverance ministry ignited a spark in me, even though my own calling took a different direction. I've seen her read strangers from head to toe. I've watched her drive out spirits in Applebees. She's powerful.
She's courageous. She's bold. And I truly admire her.
She is my best friend.
My father, an amazing counterpart, complemented her perfectly. His intelligence and ability to captivate was admirable. His daily speech, even to this very day, is in KJV and sometimes I wonder how I skipped that gene. He's gifted with wisdom and knowledge and together they wove a legacy..
My siblings and I are close. They are my best friends. Growing up in an African home can be challenging, so I am so blessed that I have a great relationship with them.
I recently entered a new chapter as a newlywed.
In January 2022, I exchanged vows with the love of my life, and since then, I have been a really happy girl.
My husband is my best friend, my anchor, my safe space.
From traveling together to doing ministry together, life with him has been all the more sweeter.
After Christ, my husband is my peace on earth--
and I thank God.
I truly urge you all to marry well.
My relationship with Jesus is a serious one, I don't play about it.
Anything that resembles a distraction or a hinderance, I am quick to cut off lol.
I have testimonies and stories for days, which I will one day touch on, but for now, know that I am nothing without my Saviour.
He saved me. And so I live for Him.
I've been a nurse for 6 years. Six. The testimony behind nursing school, I'll save for another day. My specialty is women's health and I love it. So far, I've done labor and delivery, antepartum and high risk perineal, recovery, postpartum, and I've also worked in clinics and strikes. I currently operate as a local travel nurse and I have been since the pandemic. Math and science are my thing. Critical thinking, clinical competency, problem prevention, research & evidence-based practice, and especially education & patient advocacy--
those are the things that fuel my left-brain.
I truly love nursing.
However, my heart beats for creativity, quite literally I would say.
Art is a passion that has been part of me since childhood. My mouthpiece growing up. Whether it has been creating a painting, a graphic, a t-shirt, or a poem, I find peace and fulfillment in every stroke of imagination. Right now, I operate as a content creator and a freelance artist. I create for fun and I create for others.
In the course of my journey, I've had the privilege of showcasing my artwork in art exhibitions and auctions, I've created content for & collaborated with brands, I've recently received a diploma in graphic design, I'm presently taking UX/UI courses to further expand my skill set, and beyond that, I am the owner and creative director of a Christian apparel brand called "My Jesus Peace". Right now, I actively engage in content creation, art, and everything fashion. A mouthful.
In other words, anything art and creative, I can confidently say that I have done or I can do.
I'm on a journey to find my footing in the creative world and I invite you to be part of it.
But amidst all of this, my true true passion is to serve, and I'm on a mission to integrate it into every corner of my life. My career as a nurse, my creativity, my relationships, and of course my ministries.
This introduction merely scratches the surface--It's just a small glimpse into my life.
There is so much more to unpack.
A more comprehensive biography awaits, packed with experiences, life lessons, and stories to tell. (Maybe a little bit of drama and trauma bonding.)
But for now, I hope you found this engaging.
